JOB DESCRIPTION

Technology Coordinator (Full Time, Direct Hire)


Piper Companies is seeking a Technology Coordinator to join one of our top clients in downtown Raleigh, NC. This Coordinator will be assisting with basic computer imaging and setting up innovative digital displays for major retail companies in the area.


Technical Qualifications of the Technology Coordinator: 


  1. Computer imaging - Experience with editing global policy editor and system BIOS is necessary.
  2. Process Creation - Create and standardize processes for tech setup and configuration
  3. System Testing - Perform system tests to minimize risk of downtime after installation. Testing may include stress testing, equipment/prototype reviews, and other new equipment reviews.
  4. Pre-deployment staging/configuration - prepare equipment for deployment. This includes testing and labeling media players, modems and other components as well as assembling complete installation kits.
  5. Fixture Design - work with vendors and the design team to create functional displays ready for retail. Knowledge of construction concepts preferred
  6. Inventory - Assist in the collection and maintenance of equipment inventory. This includes both full systems as well as component parts in all locations.
  7. Equipment repair - ensure that display units are kept in good working order. This work includes receiving damaged equipment from the field, repairing it and preparing it for redeployment. Technicians will work with the operations team to order parts as needed. 
  8. Site installation/troubleshooting - Ability to assist with on site installation and/or troubleshooting activities. This may include travel to retail stores to physically install equipment
  9. Network Monitoring - perform network monitoring activities on installed screens in Content Management Systems (CMS). Remotely troubleshoot and resolve issues. Contact store staff for assistance if needed. Maintain network connectivity with less than 24 hour downtime.
  10. Field Service support - Engage with field service technicians to schedule and support them as they perform in-store servicing the displays. This includes providing phone assistance with on-site technicians, arranging hardware replacement shipment, and equipment returns.

  

Required Skills and Experience

     Education: Bachelor's degree in a technology field is preferred.

     Understanding general operating system technologies including Microsoft Windows is required. Experience with Linux and Chrome OS is desired.

     Experience with configuring WiFi and LTE networking equipment.

     Understanding of computer imaging processes: Global policy editor, computer BIOSconfiguration, etc.

     Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills: The unofficial motto is “figure it out”

     Professional communication skills - will be expected to call retail employees to assess and remotely troubleshoot issues. Professional communication is necessary

     Ability to work both independently and in a team setting - most tasks will be done with support from other technical operations team members, ability to communicate and perform is critical. Some activities will require independent initiative and focus. We’re a team that relies on each other to get their job done.

     Strong time management skills - will often work alone with minimal supervision. Must be able to work steadily to accomplish assigned tasks in a timely fashion

     Able to lift equipment weighing in excess of 65 lbs.

     Coachability - on the job training and learning is a part of the process. Openness to feedback from all levels is necessary for a productive work environment

     Experience with equipment breakdown, disassembly, and board level component removal preferred.

     Past supervisory experience a plus


Compensation for the Technology Coordinator: 

  • $55,000-$65,000 based on relevant experience
