JOB DESCRIPTION

Piper Companies is currently seeking a (Full Time – Direct Hire) Tier 3 Senior Technical Support Engineer to join a fast-growing and collaborative team within the Raleigh, North Carolina (NC) market. Responsibilities for the Tier 3 Technical Support Engineer Include:

  • Provide enterprise level technical support to customers, resolving problems in Linux and Windows Systems, VMware virtual machines.
  • Resolve network connectivity & performance issues in the cloud (AWS, Azure), using packet tracking and analysis tools (Wireshark) 
  • Assist with administering and configuring network, router, switch, firewall, etc. 
  • Work with QA and Engineering teams to resolve issues
  • Work with Sales Engineers during Proof of Concept (POC)
  • Follow procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams

Qualifications for the Tier 3 Technical Support Engineer Include:

  • 3+ years of high-level enterprise Technical Support or Systems Engineering with efficient knowledge of Linux
  • Experience with storage or backup verticals (NetApp, EMC, etc.)
  • VMware administration experience (Vmotion / Vstorage preferred but not required)
  • General knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, HTTP, Load Balancers, Proxies, Firewalls)
  • Nice to Haves: SQL/Oracle, Azure/AWS, Windows Server, Scripting (Python, Perl, etc.)
