VP of Software Engineering

Piper Companies is seeking a VP of Software Engineering in the Arlington, Virginia area for a world leading technology organization. The VP of Software Engineering will oversee multiple scrum teams developing world class systems and products across the globe. The VP of Software Engineering must come from a technical background and have past experience building high performing software development teams.

Responsibilities for the VP of Software Engineering include:

·       Lead multiple teams to deliver world class software systems and products

·       Lead architecture discussion and drive technical discussions amongst the team and leaders

·       Identify and promote the use of new technologies

·       Create and improve processes that reduce risk and improve efficiency

·       Provide the team with the necessary support and tools to be successful

·       Facilitate cross-project communication and technical discussions

·       Foster a product culture that thrives on rapid iteration, innovation, and delivering high quality results

Requirements for the VP of Software Engineering include:

·       Over 7 years of experience building high performing software development teams

·       Previous experience successfully leading teams building and releasing software products

·       Ability to provide technical leadership related to building software products

·       12 factor app design experience

·       Extensive experience leading Agile development team and implementing Scaled Agile practices

·       Cloud experience (Azure is ideal)

·       Strong verbal and written communications skills

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering and/or relevant works experience

Compensation of the VP of Software Engineering include: $185,000 - $285,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package. Compensation will be commensurate based on experience.
