Associate Director, Engineering & Formulations Development

Piper Companies is currently seeking an Associate Director, Engineering & Formulations Development for an opportunity in Branford, Connecticut (CT), to join a leading laboratory for solving complex stability and formulation challenges.

Responsibilities of the Associate Director, Engineering & Formulations Development

• Lead and manage customer formulation development projects in the pharmaceutical sector, serving as the primary liaison with clients to ensure successful project execution.
• Conduct technical and business feasibility assessments for proposed technologies, guiding strategic decision-making within the organization.
• Oversee the development of new technologies by coordinating internal and external resources, ensuring alignment with company goals.
• Supervise and mentor a team of scientists and engineers, providing experimental oversight and supporting their professional growth and development.

Qualifications of the Associate Director, Engineering & Formulations Development

• 7+ years of experience of planning, leading, and completing formulation projects in the pharmaceutical industry is required
• Proven R&D experience in assessing and developing new technologies in pharmaceuticals
• Supervisory or management experience leaving scientists and/or engineers is required
• Ph.D. required, preferably in Chemical Engineering.
  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related scientific discipline will also be considered.

Compensation for the Associate Director, Engineering & Formulations Development

• Salary Range: $180,000 - $225,000/year
