Piper Companies is seeking a Instrumentation Specialist for a next-gen gene therapy innovator located in Raleigh, North Carolina (NC). The Instrumentation Specialist will be responsible for leading and supporting the setup, integration, and relocation of lab instrumentation across multiple sites. This is an on-site position in the RTP area of North Carolina.
Responsibilities of the Instrumentation Specialist:
- Coordinate lab instrumentation setup across multiple sites during relocations and expansions.
- Ensure proper integration of equipment with IT/OT systems and metrology workflows.
- Support installation and qualification of analytical instruments (e.g., HPLCs, Mass Specs) for PD/AD operations.
- Work with senior instrumentation and CSV/CSA experts to scale existing systems.
- Manage logistics for equipment delivery, storage, and deployment, including construction coordination.
- Help establish support structures to maintain lab continuity during transitions.
Qualifications for the Instrumentation Specialist:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with lab instrumentation setup and integration.
- Skilled in equipment onboarding—installation, calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with GMP environments; prior experience is a plus but not required.
- Background in pharma or gene therapy strongly preferred.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally to support lab operations and equipment lifecycle.
Compensation for the Instrumentation Specialist:
- Salary Range: $125,000-$140,000/year
