Part Time BI/Data Analyst

Piper Companies is seeking a Part Time BI/Data Analyst to support a small business consultancy in Fairfax, VA. This role will focus on improving and managing business intelligence, analysis, and reporting. This role will work primarily remotely with onsite meetings in Fairfax, VA.

Responsibilities of the Part Time BI/Data Analyst include:

• Support and enhance BI/analysis/reporting processes for a Microsoft/Azure stack environment
• Manage and maintain Power BI dashboards and embedded reports in a web portal
• Oversee data refresh schedules (nightly and weekly) and ensure data integrity
• Maintain and troubleshoot Power Automate integrations for non-API data sources
• Implement and manage Power BI Row-Level Security for user-specific data access
• Design and develop new visuals and integrate additional data sources as the project expands
• Collaborate with leadership and offshore teams to improve reporting efficiency
• Work independently to solve technical challenges with limited internal support

Qualifications for the Part Time BI/Data Analyst include:

• 3–5 years of experience with Power BI, Power Automate, and Azure-based solutions
• Strong understanding of data integration, APIs, and automation workflows
• Experience with data modeling, visualization, and security in Power BI
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with stakeholders
• DC-local candidate with flexibility for occasional onsite meetings in Fairfax, VA

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and advanced Power BI features
• Familiarity with large-scale data environments and multi-source integration
• Ability to design scalable BI solutions for growing datasets

Compensation for the Part Time BI/Data Analyst includes:

• Hourly Pay: $50/hr - $60/hr
