Piper Companies is seeking a Therapeutic Strategy Lead for a full-time remote role within a global clinical research organization. This position will drive therapeutic-area strategy, influence clinical program design, and strengthen relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and high-performing sites. Acting as the senior scientific authority for one or more therapy areas, the Therapeutic Strategy Lead partners across business development, clinical operations, regulatory, and medical teams to deliver innovative, commercially viable solutions.
Responsibilities for the Therapeutic Strategy Lead include:
· Lead scientific and therapeutic input for protocol development, feasibility assessments, and advisory boards, ensuring alignment with global standards of care and late-stage development trends.
· Serve as the primary subject-matter expert during client engagements, including proposals, bid defenses, and early concept discussions, providing rationale, risk mitigation strategies, and competitive insights.
· Establish and maintain strategic relationships with academic leaders, investigators, and clinical sites; guide site selection and enrollment strategies to optimize trial performance.
· Translate therapeutic knowledge into operational plans, including timelines, budgets, monitoring strategies, and vendor recommendations for global execution.
· Advise on regulatory pathways, endpoint selection, safety monitoring, and comparator strategies to meet payer and labeling requirements.
· Mentor internal teams on therapeutic science and best practices; contribute to thought leadership initiatives and capability building across the organization.
Qualifications for the Therapeutic Strategy Lead include:
· Advanced degree in clinical or scientific discipline (MD, PhD, PharmD or equivalent); board certification or clinical practice experience preferred.
· Extensive experience in drug development, ideally with leadership in late-phase programs or advanced strategy roles within a sponsor, CRO, or academic setting.
· Proven credibility with KOLs, investigators, and clinical sites in the relevant therapeutic area.
· Experience shaping study designs and contributing to commercial proposals, balancing scientific rigor with operational and business considerations.
Compensation for the Therapeutic Strategy Lead includes:
· Salary range: $350,000 - $390,000
