Piper Companies is seeking a Principal Forward Deployed Engineer to support a data connectivity and integration company for a remote fulltime role. The Principal Forward Deployed Engineer will be responsible for leading discovery with customer architects, data leaders, AI teams, and executives.
Responsibilities of the Principal Forward Deployed Engineer:
- Run technical discovery workshops with customer architects, data leaders, and AI teams, mapping data sources, MCP Workspace scoping, and agent tooling requirements
- Own the scoping for AI deployments with clear acceptance criteria around agent accuracy, data coverage, and governance
- Translate complex AI + data concepts into executive-ready architecture proposals; defend trade-offs to CxO-level stakeholders
Qualifications of the Principal Forward Deployed Engineer:
- 7+ years of experience as a Solutions Architect, Principal Software Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or Tech Lead at a data platform, AI, or SaaS company
- Strong customer facing experience
- Experience w/MCP, RBAC, Oauth, and RAG
Compensation for the Principal Forward Deployed Engineer:
- Salary range: $175k-$240k USD per year based on professional experience
